An over the air software patch is in the works and they told me it would be released by mid January. They were able to replicate the same issue with their own Apple TV 4K. Sony engineering actually contacted me today and they are aware of the problem. That said, it seems that Sony is allegedly aware of the issue and is working on a fix for it according to a user on Reddit.
